Live from the Deep Sea: The Next Frontier for Knowledge and Action
Barry Sardis
The ocean is not just a vast expanse of water, it’s the heartbeat of our planet. The ocean regulates weather patterns, absorbs carbon dioxide and excess heat and from our atmosphere, and provides over 90% of Earth’s living space.
Join us to learn How Deep-Sea Technology Could Transform Life Above Water. That is the title of an article by
- Mattie Rodrigue Director, Science Programme, OceanX, a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating ocean exploration and sharing knowledge.
- Diva Amon Science Adviser, Benioff Ocean Science Laboratory, University of California, Santa Barbara, and a leading expert in deep-sea ecosystems.
Mattie and Diva, 7,000 miles away, join a panel discussion during the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting for 2024 in Davos, from the state-of-the-art research vessel OceanXplorer. Mattie is onboard and Diva is in a submersible 300 meters below in the Outer Islands, Seychelles.
Two of the panelists are very wealthy philanthropists that were inspired by Jacques Cousteau when they were young. One is involved with OceanX and was influenced by James Cameron to make the world aware via educational programs, and other endeavors, and by so doing effect positive change.
So come see an eye opening introduction to one of the important activities happening in ocean technology that could help save our planet.
